Founded in 2011, the Society for Healthcare Improvement Professionals (SHIP) is a dynamic community of practitioners sharing advancements, innovations and applications of performance improvement, Lean and Six Sigma practices in healthcare. SHIP’s mission is to provide a forum to promote best practices and to support those working to help healthcare organizations become more efficient, and to improve service delivery at all levels of the organization.
Professional Advancement and Other Perks of Membership
The value of any membership organization lies in how it brings its members together — for collaborative learning, for networking opportunities, for advancing professional development in a fast-changing industry. SHIP is the only association in the healthcare sector completely dedicated to professional advancement for both clinical and non-clinical professionals in the performance improvement arena.
SHIP awards qualified professionals a formal credential in performance improvement that is recognized by leading healthcare organizations, hospital associations and academic institutions. Individuals may apply for Fellow I, II, or III level status based on demonstrated expertise in performance improvement, Lean and Six Sigma for healthcare. SHIP Fellows represent a standard of achievement defined by performance improvement professionals and faculty representing world-class healthcare organizations and academic institutions.
And as a SHIP member, you’ll be part of a growing virtual network of performance improvement professionals with exclusive opportunities to:
- Build a searchable professional profile
