Founded in 2011, the Society for Healthcare Improvement Professionals (SHIP) is a dynamic community of practitioners sharing advancements, innovations and applications of performance improvement, Lean and Six Sigma practices in healthcare. SHIP’s mission is to provide a forum to promote best practices and to support those working to help healthcare organizations become more efficient, and to improve service delivery at all levels of the organization.

SHIP awards qualified professionals a formal credential in performance improvement that is recognized by leading healthcare organizations, hospital associations and academic institutions.  Individuals may apply for Fellow I, II, or III level status based on demonstrated expertise in performance improvement, Lean and Six Sigma for healthcare.  SHIP Fellows represent a standard of achievement defined by performance improvement professionals and faculty representing world-class healthcare organizations and academic institutions.
